Day 01: Arrive Chennai
Welcome to Colourful India. On arrival at International Airport
you will be received by our representative

and assisted to your hotel. Proceed for sightseeing of Chennai -
the gateway to southern India, established in 1639 by the East India
Company, is one of the oldest cities of the country. Assistance
and transfer to hotel. After lunch at hotel, half day sightseeing
tour, visiting Gandhi Memorial, Kala Kshetra, Mylapore temple and
Marine beach. Overnight stay at Chennai.
Day 02: Chennai – Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram
After breakfast we drive to Kanchipuram is the ancient capital of
the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124
shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th
and 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara,
Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest.
Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks. Afternoon we drive to
Mamallapooram and check in at hotel. Evening visit the city - built
in 7th century, earlier called Mahabalipooram, this ancient Pallava
port, is today the sight of several antique sculptural marvels.
Overnight stay at Mahamallapuram.
Day 03: Mahamallapuram – Pondicherry
After breakfast we drive to Pondicherry, once a French settlement
and now home to the Aurbindo Ashram - It spiritual tenets represent
a synthesis of yoga and modern science and Auroville or the City
of Dawn, an International settlement where community living is the
focus of life. Visit Pondicherry Museum, which has an outstanding
collection of artifacts. Evening Relax at the beach, which runs
along the city. Overnight stay at Pondicherry.
Day 04: Pondicherry – Trichy Enroute Tanjore
After breakfast leave for Trichy, short name of Trichurapalli, situated
on the banks of Kaveri River is a blend of history and tradition
as well as pilgrim centre, it is famous for Ranganath temple at
Srirangam. Enroute visit Tanjore Visit the magnificent Brahadeeswara
temple, where the shade of the tower (gopuram or vimanam) will not
fall on the ground. The second largest monolithic sculpture, Nandi
(Bull) can be found in the portal of the shrine. Check in at hotel.
Evening visit rock-Fort is the landmark of Trichy. A climb of

steps leads to the ancient temple of Ganapati on top and a further
climb to a Shiva temple Visit Srirangam temple and Rockfort temple.
Overnight stay at Trichcy.
Day 05: Trichy - Madurai
After breakfast we drive to Madurai, known for 1000-pillared meenakshiamman
temple. Visit Meenakshi temple, famous for its Court of Thousand
Pillars, built in 1560 A.D and visit to the temple to witness the
famous night ceremony when the Temple bronze of Lord Siva is carried
to the bed chamber of Goddess Parvathy to the accompaniment of religious
prayers and music. Overnight stay at Madurai.
Day 06: Madurai – Periyar (160 Km)
After breakfast we drive to Periyar the one of the best game sanctuaries
in India. Journey to Thekkady is through breathtaking, winding,
dense rubber, etc. A boat ride on the spending Lake Periyar is the
best way to experience the sanctuary. Visit the Spice plantations
like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee and tea estates. Check in
Hotel. Overnight stay at Periyar.
Day 07: Periyar - Kumarakom
After breakfast we drive for Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Relax at
the waterfront, with the occasional native rowboat gliding silently.
We also enjoy a sunset cruise. Overnight stay. Enjoy massage that
would do wonders on your body. The splash of water slapping softly
on the banks provides soothing background music. Visit Kumarakom
Bird Sanctuary. The breathtaking view of the lake during the dawn
and dusk and the glimpse of the formation of birds flapping in and
out of the bird sanctuary can be seen from any spot of the island.
Overnight stay at Kumarkom.
Day 08: Kumarkom - Allepey
Enjoy early morning sunrise, after breakfast drive to Allepey. This
is the heart of backwaters and it is Naturally known for its snake
boat racing events. Spending an overnight at the resort is an ideal
getaway from the madding crowds of everyday life. For those in search
of peace and tranquility, this is a refreshing interlude. Day free
to relax at backwater resort or proceed for a backwater cruise (Optional).
Day 09: Allepey - Kochi

Morning drive to Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala. Kochi
is the natural harbour created by the famed underwater Malabar mud-banks
whose quality ensures that the rougher the seas are outside the
calmer the waters are within the Harbour. Vasco-da-Gama placed it
on the world map. It has a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches,
mosques & Hindu temples. Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets. In
the evening proceed for traditional Kathakali Dance Show. Overnight
stay at Cochin.
Day 10: Cochin – Mumbai/Chennai
After breakfast drive to Airport for flight to Chennai / Mumbai.
Meet and assist and transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.
Day 11: Chennai / Mumbai – Back home
After breakfast free to explore the city and finish last minute
shopping. We ensure timely transfer to International Airport for
back home flight with sweet memories of India.
