Deepavali (Diwali)

DeepavliDeepavali is one of the most importa nt festivals of India, which means festival of lights. The place is made luminous by arranging the lights and burning the crackers. It is a joyful day and is celebrated with special purchases, greetings and gifts. Welcome to the celebration of Diwali with Diwali Mela, a carnival of joys and lights. The most famous thing of diwali is the exchanging of Diwali Gifts. Deepa means light and this year on Diwali light up your world with diyas and candles as once more we welcome goddess of prosperity and wealth, Lakshmi.

The most famous legend associated with the story of Diwali is the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya. Lord Ram was sent to exile by his stepmother for 14 years in the jungle. His wife Sita and younger brother Lakshman also accompanied him there. In the jungle Ravan kidnapped sita and Lord Ram had to take the help of God Hanuman and monkey king Sugvir to kill Ravan. After killing Ravan and completing his period of exile, Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya and to celebrate his comeback the citizens of Ayodhya decorated their houses, exchanged sweets and ignited firecrackers. Since that day Diwali came to be celebrated in order to commemorate the coming back of Lord Ram. The lighting of houses is said to attract Goddess Lakshmi, who brings prosperity to her devotees.
