Kerala is situated at the Southwest tip of India main land on the Arabian Sea.
Kerala is bound by Arabian Sea on the west,
Karnataka on the north and northeast, and Tamil Nadu on the east.
The people of Kerala are warm and friendly and interaction with them is often a highlight
of a holiday to Kerala. Keralites have a strong culture and are fiercely proud of their state.
Some of their art forms (eg Kathakali and Theyyam) and martial arts (kalaripayattu) are unique.
Kerala’s 38,863 km² landmass (1.18% of India) is wedged between the Arabian
Sea to the west and the Western Ghats—identified as one
of the world's twenty-five biodiversity hotspots—to the east.
